First, preheating

1. Before the magnesium alloy ingots are added to the furnace, they must be preheated to more than 150 degrees.

Second, add materials

1. Clean the crucible, no oil, rust, water stains, magnesium sticky and foreign matter, etc., the furnace and the surrounding area should be clean;

2. The feeding should be uniform, regardless of the new furnace or the furnace; The main material and the stuffing material should be cut separately according to the ratio to ensure uniformity;

Third, the reasonable melting of magnesium alloy

1. Rational use of the melting furnace and save energy, the heating power ratio of the furnace from 350 degrees to 400 degrees is about 17%; The heating power ratio of the furnace from 400 degrees to 550 degrees is about 21%; The furnace has a heating power ratio of 100% from 550 degrees above 100 degrees; It takes 6h for magnesium alloy to go from 350 degrees to 650 degrees.

Fourth, add shielding gas

1. When the temperature reaches 350 degrees, the furnace automatically supplies the protective gas, and the protective gas is SF6 and N2, which must not be leaked;

5. Scooping operation

1. Protective equipment must be worn when scooping materials to avoid danger, and the scooping tools must be heated to more than 150 degrees before use, remove surface moisture, and clean the surface of the spoon.

2. The magnesium ingot mold must be preheated above 150 degrees, and the N2 flow value must be kept at 100; SF 6 flow value is adjusted to 20~30, mixed flow is kept at 80, and can only be operated after maintaining ventilation for 5min under this flow.

3. Lift the lid of the furnace, keep the spoon tilted by 30 degrees, slowly put it into the material, take 3/4 of the material liquid of the spoon capacity each time, slowly raise the liquid level, and gently pour the material liquid into the magnesium ingot mold. After the mold lid is closed, remember not to stir the liquid when scooping.

4. The longest opening time of the mold cover is 3min, otherwise it will cause fire, and the furnace cover must be covered in time; After taking the material, after covering the furnace lid, if you want to take the material, you must wait 10~15min; The proportion of SF 6 adjusted after 5 min after the end of material extraction was normal.

5. It is worth noting that there can be no waste residue at the sealing surface of the furnace cover, and if it is accidentally dropped when taking materials, it must be cleaned up first, otherwise it will cause poor sealing of the furnace and accelerate the oxidation of the material liquid.
